On Saturday April 17th, North East Trees celebrated Earth Day along with California State Parks Foundation at the Los Angeles State Historic Park.
Over 200 volunteers joined us to plant 150 native trees throughout the park.
With the backdrop of the downtown Los Angeles skyline, this site provided a perfect setting for an Earth Day celebration, and everyone was enthusiastic to plant trees in this huge wide open space which until now had no trees.
Senator Carol Liu came by to cheer us on.
Assemblymember Kevin de Leon came by to remind us what a wonderful opportunity this was to serve our community.

Teams of volunteers dug holes to plant the trees..... Go Sempra Team!

Others constructed mesh baskets to protect the roots from rodent damage.... go USGBC-LA Team!

More provided major muscle... Go Pepperdine Team!

This team was on mulch delivery duty.... Go YMCA Team!
We all had a wonderful time and got so much accomplished. Thank you so much to everyone that attended the event, worked with us, encouraged us, and sponsored us.
